Job Overview
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse – Otolaryngology to provide specialized outpatient nursing care within the ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The RN will support physicians and healthcare teams in evaluating, treating, and educating patients with ear, nose, throat, sinus, head, and neck conditions. Duties include patient assessment, procedure support, medication administration, patient education, care coordination, and clinical documentation while ensuring compliance with DHA and military healthcare standards.
General Duties
- Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Perform duties in accordance with the PWS, DHA standards, and MTF policies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, and patient safety regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement, readiness activities, peer review, and staff training.
Specific Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and geriatric ENT patients.
- Obtain patient histories, medication lists, vital signs, and symptom assessments.
- Perform telephone and in-person patient triage and nursing evaluations.
- Assist providers during ENT examinations, procedures, and specialty treatments.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms for procedures and evaluations.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen, and prescribed treatments according to clinic protocols.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies or adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, post-procedure care, and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.
- Coordinate referrals, specialty appointments, diagnostic testing, and continuity of care.
- Operate and maintain specialty clinic equipment and ensure exam rooms remain stocked and operational.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery and clinic workflow.
Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Certifications must be through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Online-only certifications are not accepted.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of outpatient clinic, emergency room, ICU, urgent care, or specialty nursing experience within the past three years preferred.
- Experience in specialty outpatient care and ENT clinic settings is highly desirable.
Licensure
Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Standard clinic hours: 0730 – 1630
- Procedure days may require schedule adjustments from 0700 – 1600
- Maximum 40 hours per week
- No on-call requirement
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move clinical supplies and equipment
- Ability to assist patients during examinations and procedures
- Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical nursing duties
Work Environment
This position is performed in a military outpatient Otolaryngology clinic environment within Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work setting includes direct patient care, specialty procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.
Immunization Requirement
Must comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) immunization and health screening requirements, including annual influenza vaccination and tuberculosis screening.
Security Requirement
Must be able to pass all required background investigations, credentialing, and installation access requirements for work on Nellis Air Force Base.
Compensation: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
