Job Overview:
AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Family Medicine Residency Registered Nurse (FMR RN) to support the teaching and clinical operations of the Family Medicine Residency Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. This RN will assist with outpatient care delivery, patient education, coordination of services, and clinical mentoring within an academic environment. The RN serves as a liaison between patients, resident physicians, and attending staff.
General Duties:
- Deliver care in accordance with clinical privileges and established residency protocols.
- Support both clinical and educational missions of the residency program.
Specific Duties:
- Conduct assessments, record vitals, and prepare patients for physician evaluation.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations.
- Support diagnostic and minor office procedures (e.g., EKGs, wound care, biopsies).
- Provide health education and counseling for chronic and acute conditions.
- Coordinate care with labs, specialists, and follow-ups.
- Assist residents in patient documentation and clinic flow.
- Help orient and support newly rotating residents and staff.
Qualifications:
- Degree: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Education: Graduate of an NLNAC or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
Certification:
- BLS required (AHA or Red Cross).
Experience:
- At least 1 year of clinical RN experience, preferably in a family medicine, internal medicine, or residency clinic setting.
Licensure:
- Must have an active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong patient assessment and triage skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with physician trainees in a teaching environment.
- Skilled in immunizations, medication administration, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in electronic medical records and appointment coordination.

Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- Flexible shifts between 0600–1800
- Typical shift hours: 0600–1500, 0800–1700, or 0900–1800
- No weekends, holidays, on-call, or overtime expected
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, and occasional patient assistance required in a clinical setting
Immunization Requirement:
- Current immunizations, physical exam, and TB screening must be completed before start
Security Requirement:
- Must pass background investigation for base access
Compensation: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
